Let’s start with some site news: I now have a local installation of WordPress on my computer with server et al. This means that I’ll have the power to make changes to my site and more or less preview them before actually changing anything “live”. For a PHP newbie, this is going to be super helpful for me to learn how to add, remove or modify code (and test it) without risking a major code fail. My site looks sad at this moment. I am known to be creative but I am not a designer at all! I’d love to hire someone to just do it all for me but that would be too expensive and less rewarding. I’ll keep the super complicated little jobs for my developer friends; other than that, expect a few trial runs with various designs until I settle on one that I really like.
For those of you who are curious, I settled on the Thematic theme because it’s well written, well supported and pretty much bare bones, which allows for a considerable amount of customization. Give me a couple of months and you’ll return to a pretty spiffy-looking site with better features. 
In other news, I had a photo shoot with my one of my favourite muses yesterday. I’m incredibly impressed with the results and learned that natural light is quickly becoming my favourite source of lighting. In most of the articles that I’ve read about working with models for photography, they give you tips as to how to direct them but I’ve found that sometimes, you really don’t have to direct too much. I love working with this person in particular because she has great posture and knows how to move and pose gracefully (likely due to years of ballet dancing!). We’re both pushing ourselves creatively with more theatrical photos as of late; I really look forward to continuing this great relationship with her as I have a feeling that the photos and themes will continue to evolve and improve.
