When thinking about the kind of variety I wanted in my “Books of 2009″ series, the idea of adding a review from a comic book collector came to mind. I present you with the best comic book of 2009 and a few runners-up as chosen by an avid reader and collector.
Luc “SMASH!!!” Pelletier, Ottawa Ontario
(Claims Analyst, Comic book collector and Jedi Knight Master)
Book of 2009: Wolverine: Old Man Logan HC
(Wolverine # 66-72 and finished in Wolverine: Old Man Logan Giant-Size #1).
“In this ‘futuristic’ tale, Wolverine is married and has a family of his own in a world where most heroes have died in a gigantic battle many years ago. This world is now ruled by all the villains of the world who killed most heroes.
Having vowed to never use his claws again, ‘Logan’ is then hired to deliver a package across the country by his old friend Hawkeye but, in this voyage through this new America, Wolverine discovers that regardless of any vows he took, he can’t run from what he’s good at…and what he’s good at ain’t very nice.”
