I wanted to tackle #64 and #65 on my list as soon as possible. I’m always eager to learn new things and I’ve been meaning to read more history books, discover new art, music and literature. This will be a great way to explore new countries, cultures and traditions as well. Most of all, I’m planning a “trip of a lifetime”. I haven’t travelled outside of North America yet and though I have a general idea of the places I want to visit, this challenge might introduce me to countries that I hadn’t thought about visiting and they might end up on my list. If not, I’ll have learned something new.
#64: Throw all of the world’s countries in a hat and pick 10. Read a book on each country’s history.
#65: Of those 10 countries, discover one visual artist, one musician and one author/playwright from each country.
Ok, so I didn’t throw them in a hat but I did find a list of all of the world’s countries and asked friends to pick a number.
6 – Andorra
12 – Armenia
7 – Angola
15 – Australia
25 – Belize
79 – Ethiopia
2 – Afghanistan
37 – Bulgaria
257 – Zimbabwe
219 – Suriname
Expect a blog post when I’ve completed both tasks for each country. If you have any book, artist, musician or author recommendations for any of these countries, please leave a comment or send me a note! Thanks!

Hi caelin, thanks for this recommendation! I’m adding it to my list for Australia.
Julie!!! I’ve been to Andorra and it’s really cool! You’ll have to go to a spa called Caldea…it’s pretty amazing! wow, your list is full of very different places that I’ve never heard of! If you end up going to Australia or Belize before me, you’ll have to take lots of notes to tell me where all the cool places are!
P.S. i knew I should have never come to see your website… I’ve already been on it for too long instead of working!
Maxine, the idea isn’t to visit each country! It’s to learn more about them… by reading a book based on each country and then discovering the culture even more through music and all that.
Hey, I try to keep my website interesting.
Well, actually the only country I’ve never really heard of is Suriname. I’ll have to read your next post to learn about it!
