Someone wonderful shared this quote with me a while back and I’ve been returning to it every now and again because it has had a profound impact on how I perceive and manage my relationships now.
“Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option.”
(I haven’t been able to find the original author for this quote. Some sites attribute Mark Twain, others list it as Unknown Source and some point to someone’s Flickr account as the original source.)

Love this comment. I should have used it years back. I would not have had a burnout. We learn with years that having a kind heart will get abused at some point. You have to stand up for yourself and know limits. Thanks!
I’ve been on both sides of that equation; it’s not fair either way.
