101 in 1001: the June round-up
Well, June was not a very productive month when it came to crossing things off my 101 list. There are two objectives on the list that have been completed, but I’ve decided to tie them all in with a third one that is being done slowly but will be completed in July. To be honest, my beloved 101 challenge is off my current list of priorities, especially now that I’m unemployed. At the end of June, I was laid off for the first time in my life. That has certainly been something to adjust to – I’ve always planned when I left jobs, not the other way around! But, everything is transient, everything changes and I’m beginning to adapt now. In fact, I try to plan my days so that the job hunting occurs in the morning and ends before or right after lunch. And then I have the day to myself to try to enjoy the summer a bit.
On the health front, physiotherapy is helping me a great deal! If you live in Ottawa and have suffered an injury or need the services of a physiotherapist, massage therapist or personal trainer, go to this place: Motion Matters.
My patio garden is also coming along beautifully. It has supplied me with lettuce, onions and some spinach. In a couple of days, I’ll be eating green beans! I’ll post updated photos soon.
In regards to my 101 Book list, this month was terrible. I managed to read three graphic novels (you already know how much I love this new series!). But I also began to read three more books so that will take me some time.
Lastly, I have some great news! There was a community garage sale a few weeks ago and there, I met a local woman who makes bookmarks. I adore her work and I also want to support local artists and craftsmen. So I’ve decided to purchase some in bulk and I will be giving away a bookmark with each book that I give away as part of my monthly goal. So if you win a book, I hope you also enjoy the bookmark! I’ll write up a little profile article when I get those bookmarks from her so you can see what they look like.
